President Trump's revised travel ban finally came into force yesterday at 8pm ET. Entitled 'Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States', the ban restricts entry to the United States from six majority Muslim countries: Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
While the explicit aim of the ban is to reduce the risk of terrorism, not a single fatal jihadist terror attack has been committed on U.S. soil since 9/11 by somebody born in these countries. In fact, all such perpetrators were either born in the United States or were legal permanent residents.
